Kit motors, also known as built-in motors or frameless motors, offer a special type of drive technology in which the motor itself has no housing or bearings. Essentially, they consist of the active components of a motor: rotor and stator.
This gives customers the flexibility to integrate the motor directly and seamlessly into their own mechanics or application.
In many cases, kit motors are designed as torque motors. Torque motors are characterized by a special geometry optimized for high torque rather than high power output. Their design is typically short and features a large diameter, which helps keep copper losses and electrical time constants low.
Kit and torque motors are ideal for applications that require high torque, compact dimensions, precise control and direct integration into the customer’s machine.
