Ruggedized Encoders

The RESOLUTE encoder system combines 18-, 26- or 32-bit resolution with exceptionally high speeds of up to 18,000 rpm (50 m/s) and high-accuracy stainless steel rings. RESOLUTE encoder systems use a single-track optical scale in combination with advanced optics to ensure generous installation tolerances and exceptionally low noise. Position detection provides very low cyclic error and low noise (jitter), resulting in improved speed control and the best possible positional stability. Reliable operation is guaranteed even under the harshest environmental conditions, down to -40 °C in non-condensing conditions. This makes the product ideal for applications such as telescopes, scientific research, military systems and aerospace. Thanks to its high resistance to vibration and its stainless steel rings, this encoder system is robust enough to withstand high loads in the harshest environments. The reliability of the RESOLUTE encoder system is ensured by its excellent contamination tolerance and special checking algorithms for decoding the redundant code on the scale.
