EM - ELECTROMAGNETS

Electromagnets or electrical holding magnets develop high attraction forces to flat magnetic materials. Most common versions need to be energised to develop force, like our EM series of electromagnets. The applications range from holding of ferromagnetic work pieces during machining or assembly operations, through door latching or holdback devices, safety mechanisms, to selector devices in textiles machinery.

Because the field sharply drops with the distance of the counterpart, the flatness of the surface and a very thin plating are important features. This is also true for the optional armature plates.

Characteristics

  • five sizes with 25 to 80mm diameter
  • holding force up to 2,100N
  • high holding force at low power
  • standard windings for 12 or 24Vdc
  • flexible cable output to the side or through the base

Options

  • Ejector Pin: preloaded spring pin to overcome residual magnetism, reduces the holding force by about 10%
  • custom windings
  • custom sizes
  • armature plate (ferromagnetic, nickel plated) as magnetical counter part to the electromagnets
  • permanent magnet version (electrical release, see HMER)

*hot = constant temperature, which is reache in still air at constant energisation at nominal power.
After switching the power off a residual magnetism of about 5% needs to be expected.
