The MACinverter is a universal state-of-the-art, embedded controller especially dedicated to the control of power drive modules for single and 3-phase electric motor drives.

It offers ALL the hardware and firmware features needed in modern, high-performance drive systems:

The MACinverter offers the most compact and economic link between control system intelligence and modern 3-phase power stacks, which already contain:

• 6 three-phase, upper and lower switches
• Driver circuits
• Short-circuit protection
• Power supply, regeneration circuit (power dump) if required
• 2 phase current sensors
• Temperature sensor

All other control functions including direct switching control of the power devices are served by the MACinverter.

Some of the outstanding features of the MACinverter:

• Compatible with DC, AC and DC-brushless motors
• All control is implemented in a high-performance FPGA (Altera EP3C40F48417N)
• Extremely high sampling and PWM frequencies
• Dedicated customer application functions can also be implemented in FPGA

• Supported feedback devices include resolver, incremental encoder (A/B/Z and Sine/cosine), Hall-effect, absolute encoder (EnDat 1 & 2, Hiperface, SSI, BISS, Netzer)
• Powerful host interfaces are available: Ethernet, EtherCAT, CAN, RS232/422
• Multiple I/O capability (analogue and digital)
• Two Samtec BSE-040-01-L-D, 80 pin, 0.8mm pitch, 2-row connectors

• The MACinverter may be used for drives of any power level, 10W to 10MW!
